Lamborghini Enters the World of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs)

After a number of social media posts hinting at it, Italian supercar-maker Lamborghini has finally announced its first NFT (non-fungible token) project. Dubbed Space Key and created in collaboration with an unidentified artist and inspired by a piece advanced carbon fiber composite material that was shipped to the International Space Station for research purposes.

After weeks of social media posts hinting at it, a prestigious car manufacturer Lamborghini has finally announced its first non-fungible token (NFT) project. The Space Key is a collection of five items that allows you to access an exclusive digital work by an unknown artist. The "collectors' piece" was developed in collaboration with NFTPRO(tm) and is limited to five units. It will be auctioned off soon.

Each Space Key contains a block composed of a carbon-fire composite material. It was sent to the International Space Station as part of a research project for 2019. After returning to Earth the block was engraved with a QR code that links to the digital element of the Space Key.

Each of the five Space Keys features a different moment that occurs at different times when the Lamborghini Ultimae takes off towards the stars. Each of five images was shot by photographer Fabian Oefner and contains over 600 million pixels.

Oefner utilized an inflatable camera equipped with a lens to capture the individual images, which were then assembled into the final photograph. The result is a photograph that is out of this world.
